Silversmith Theresa Nguyen is working on two bespoke chandelier pieces with RWD and talks to the BBC about her craft;
“It was such a privilege and wonderful experience for me to be chosen to take part in the Walpole Crafted programme during 2016. I am particularly grateful to RWD for my time on the Crafted Programme not only because they were a main sponsor for the programme but because of their proactive support and participation in the delivery of the programme.
I must say meeting the RWD team and visiting their amazing offices on the banks of the Beaulieu River was one of the highlights of my time on the programme. It was such an inspiring experience for me, in particular hearing about how passionate they are about putting their clients at the very heart of everything that they do and their total commitment to excellence.
It was during this time I was able to share a little bit about what I do as an Artist Silversmith with the RWD team and it was from this time we have been able to explore how we could work together which has now resulted in me being commissioned to make lighting pendants and furniture fixtures for two superyachts.
It is only because of RWD’s support of Walpole and the Crafted Programme that I have been given this amazing opportunity to provide pieces for superyachts, something I would not have even dared to believe was possible before my time on the Crafted Programme.
Working with RWD has been an amazing experience and has provided me with a new and exciting avenue for my work, in particular it has given me the opportunity to collaborate with and learn from top level interior designers and lighting experts which will be invaluable to me in the future development of my business.”
