Tony Dixon was thrilled to be a judge for the 2017 Young Designer Competition.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for students to demonstrate their design and hand drawing skills under a realistic “Client brief” situation. The Superyacht Designer judges get to encourage important hand sketching skills and the students get to express their ideas and show off their abilities as well as gaining a valuable simulated “client” experience –  I believe they will all walk away better off for having the experience.
Sketches and drawings are an incredibly important tool in today’s world of conceptualising and designing objects in every field and no more so than for today’s yacht owners. As well as providing information they also offer emotion and satisfaction for both the draftsman ship and the recipient as an art form. It’s a trade, vocation and personal skill.”
The next generation of yacht designers are once again affirmed by Superyacht UK
